STG Presents, Erasure Poster! They are performing on Oct. 6th at The Moore Theater in Seattle WA 2011. I wanted to make psychedelic style poster for this because their show is just crazy and trippy. Two color silk screen print. Thanks Modern Dog & STG Seattle for giving me this project!
Here are my sketches for this poster. I like using more organic shapes even just for one circles. It makes the whole poster feel different and handmade.
STG Presents, Michael Ian Black stand up comedy show in Seattle! I love noodles and he does too…I guess. One of my friends Melinda really loves him but she had to go to the October fest this year…next time.
I just went for it. No pencil sketch or anything. It’s fun to keep going without worry about anything. If I messed something up it will create something cool sometimes…or photoshop it.
Robynne Raye and I made this poster in our studio Modern Dog Design Co. today for Matisyahu who is performing in Seattle on July 30, 2011 at The Neptune. All hand done and will be silk screen print. I’m excited to see this actual prints pretty soon.
So I did this illustration project for my friends “RAD Racing” SUBARU team and this will be official T-shirt graphic. This will be available pretty soon and they will make their SUBARU race car much faster and cooler. Here is another color option. Enjoy! (I might be printing this image on t-shirts…it will be fun!)

We (Modern Dog and Rockport Publishers) have been making this new book “Inside the World of Board Graphic” over a year and I got this great opportunity to create the cover design. Of course inside of this book is cool too. This will be published in this summer around September. Check more details in here. Also, check my sketches, back cover and other ideas that didn’t go well.
This sketch book on the top right is that I have been taking memos and little illustration for making this book over a year. We decided to use both of those sketches inside of this board graphic book. You’ll see if you get one for yourself!
They are couple comps I made before the final one on top. Left one is little too “Skate” feel and right one’s foot is too big but check the spine of this book. There is a little foot on top! I like using water color and mask it with my illustrations those days. Sometimes much better than doing stencils. (still love doing stencils though)

Sketchbooks of the Worlds Great Graphic Designers
Thanks Modern Dog! I got this great chance to show my sketch books in this book with a lot of artists and designers from all over the world. They also used my weird green monster sketch on the cover (bottom left)
I’ve got this book recently and this is a cool book that you can check a lot of artists and designer’s sketches. It’s really inspiring. Some of them don’t even look like sketches. Makes want me to frame it if I have the original ones. You can purchase it from Amazon or local book stores.
AIGA Seattle had this design tournament called “Pixel Punchout” and I got a chance to design a poster as Modern Dog for this event. I wanted to make something simple but crazy like pixel crazy if it makes sense. I avoided to design pixelated things first of all. When I make posters, I usually don’t use typefaces because I want to make everything handmade but I think this event poster needs some type out info so I made it like this.

For this silk screen poster I used 100% cyan & magenta. Purple color is the third color from the two colors. I also did a judge for the final pixel punchout tournament. They did good job so my score for them was even…bad judge…
